Commercial litigation and insurance coverage experience preferable. Nicolaides Fink Thorpe Michaelides Sullivan LLP, a mid-size national law firm, seeks an experienced Litigation Paralegal in the firm's Chicago office. This is an opportunity to join a growing firm and handle a wide variety of responsibilities within a collaborative, team-oriented and dynamic environment.
Candidates should possess excellent oral and written communication skills, litigation support experience, and an ability to multi-task. A Bachelor's degree is preferred and four or more years as a paralegal required. Familiarity with insurance clients and claims is desirable, but not necessary. We seek experience with MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Nextpoint (or similar e-discovery software), Westlaw, and Adobe.
Paralegal responsibilities include:
- Document organization and review, including identifying important documents, summarizing key information, preparing chronologies and witness lists;
- E-discovery database set up/maintenance with vendors, assessing case needs, obtaining quotes, issue coding;
- Organizing information, including preparing charts that list insurance policies and participants in litigation; and
- Assisting with document productions, including reviewing for privilege, redacting/bates labeling, preparing privilege logs research and preparing background information on individuals, companies, judges, and attorneys.
- Mediation, motion and trial preparation, including preparing and maintaining exhibit lists, preparing presentations.
- Ability to work overtime, when necessary.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree, preferred
Required Experience: Four plus years as a paralegal
